Reviewing the recommendations on E-Law
Women’s political rights advocacy group held one of its regular sessions on Monday June 10th in FEFA to review the group’s recommendations on the Elections Law, discuss preparing list of women willing to work as IEC’s civic educators and study FEFA’s recommendations on MoI’s policy concerning elections. After reviewing the recommendations on E-Law the group decided to set an appointment with speaker of the Upper House (Mishrano Jirga) and head of the legislative committee to share the proposal. It is worth mentioning that the draft election law was referred to Mishra Jirga after the lower house (Wolesi Jirga) approved it a couple weeks ago. The present members at the session promised they will cooperate in preparing list of women from different provinces who can work as IEC’s civic educators and share it with the Commission. It was also decided that the group will study FEFA’s recommendations for MoI and set a meeting time with the policy deputy minister to discuss the proposal. At the end of the session, one of the members was able to make an appointment with the speaker of upper house and the next session of the group was set for June 24th.
