Third Coordination Meeting with Stack Holders

Free and Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan (FEFA) held the third coordination among election stakeholders on September 19, 2019 at FEFA.The meeting was attended by 11 representatives of institutions such as Independent Election Commission, Election Complaints Commission, Ministry of Women Affairs, and civil society organizations however; representatives from Ministry of Interior although has promised to participate but did not. At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Naeem Asghari, Program Coordinator of FEFA welcomed the participants, explained agenda of the meeting and requested participants to provide information about the activities their organizations are carrying out in the elections. Subsequently, operation deputy of chief election officer oof IEC Mr. Mohammad Osman "Frotan" spoke about the progress being made in holding the upcoming presidential elections and said that recruitment of temporary staff for the 3rd and 4th grades is under way in the centre and in provinces through an open competition without any interference where it is almost finalized in some provinces but ongoing in others which will be finished soon. Similarly, the issues of fingerprint devices, which is set to be used on the elections day, were discussed among the election commission, Dermlog company, political parties and civil society institutions during several meetings and it was finally decided to add the following special characteristics to the fingerprint devices:
