Town hall in Paktia
Free & Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan (FEFA) held a town-hall in Paktia on 22/12/2016 to discuss the problems of this province with Paktia senators in Meshrano Jirga, Paktia provincial council, Paktia civil rights activists and Paktia representatives in Wolesi Jirga. Paktia senator Fawzia Saddat, members of Paktia provincial council and representatives of civil society attended this town-hall. The participants of town-hall discussed shortage of female teachers in Paktia, shortage of health-clinics in Paktia and the violence against women in Paktia. A participant of the town-hall said that the building of civilian hospital of Paktia is old and does not respond to the needs of patients, there is shortage of ambulance in the hospital, there is shortage of medical experts in Paktia, there is corruption in Paktia medical centers and there is no intern chance for Paktia medical students. He urged the president and officials at Ministry of Public Health to pay attention to the problems of Paktia. Then, Haji Hafiz a member of Paktia provincial council said that the provincial council has always tried to share public problems with government officials. Then, Paktia representatives to Meshrano Jirga said that there are a lot of problems in health section in Paktia and representatives of Paktia in Wolesi Jirga and Meshrano Jirga must together work to solve these problems because I can’t solve these problems alone. At the end of this town-hall, Mrs. Fawzia Saddat promised raise these problems in plenary session of Meshrano Jirga and government officials to find solutions for them.
