FEFA held a town-hall in Kandahar province

FEFA held a town hall meeting in Kandahar province on May 22, 2017. The objective of this town hall meeting was direct discussion of representatives of Kandahar in parliament and district council with their constituents about problems of Kandahar province. The representative of Kandahar province in parliament; Mrs. Freba Ahmadi and members of Kandahar provincial council; Mrs. Serena Faizi, Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Sousufi, Mr. Nematullah Wafa and Dr. Aziza Azizi and 70 residents of Kandahar province attended this meeting to discuss about Kandahar problems. At the beginning of the meeting representative of FEFA welcomed the participants of town hall meeting and presented brief information about the activities, achievements and objectives of FEFA. he added that FEFA has identified 3 major problems of Kandahar province and then developed an agenda for them to be discussed in this town hall meeting. Subsequently, Freba Ahmadi, representative of Kandahar province in parliament thanked FEFA for organizing the town hall meeting in Kandahar province and said, “There are a lot of problems in education section in Kandahar. Existence of imaginary schools, teachers and students and deprivation of girls from going to school are two major educational problems in Kandahar province. We have made serious attempts to solve the educational problems of Kandahar province and expect to solve them in cooperation with the provincial council of Kandahar.” Then, she talked about electricity problems of Kandahar province and said, “Most of Kandahar electricity is produced by diesel machines and very little electricity of Kajaki dam is allocated to Kandahar province. If the government does not build dikes to store waters we will not be able to solve our electricity problems with diesel generators. She promised participants of the meeting that she will share this problem with the government officials in Kabul to solve the electricity problems of Kandahar province.”
