FEFA held meetings on April/3/2016
FEFA held a meeting on April 3, 2016 to discuss the following issues: 1- Holding of focus groups in government and non-government universities; 2- Holding of advocacy meetings for Youth Awareness Report; 3- Quarterly of Youth Political Rights Advocacy Group; At the beginning of the meeting the facilitator of Youth Political Rights Advocacy Group (YPRAG) presented brief information on group to new members. Subsequently, the participants of meeting exchanged views on holding of focus groups in government and non-government universities, importance of provincial council elections, the objective of provincial council election, encouraging of youth to take part in election as candidate and voters and increasing. Then, the group took the following decisions: - Planning for holding of focus groups, preparing a guideline on focus groups, finalizing the questions of focus groups and selecting the participants of focus groups; - Sharing the questions of focus groups with members of YPRAG and holding a pilot focus group; - Holding of two pilot focus groups in non-government universities; - Holding of focus groups in 2 government and 8 non-government universities; - Participation of 2 lecturers and 10 university students in each focus groups; - Preparing a report from findings of these focus groups and lobby for the recommendations of this report; Subsequently, the participants of meeting discussed holding of advocacy meetings for recommendations of report of Youth Awareness and decided to hold advocacy meeting with Ministry of Haj & Islamic Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation & Development, the Youth Deputy and Independent Election Commission.

FEFA held a meeting on April 3, 2016 to discuss the following issues: • Introduction of new members of group • Holding of focus groups in government and non-government universities; • Holding of advocacy meetings for Youth Awareness Report; • Quarterly of Youth Political Rights Advocacy Group; The facilitator of Youth Political Rights Advocacy Group (YPRAG) presented brief information on group to new members. Subsequently, the participants of meeting exchanged views on holding of focus groups in government and non-government universities. the participants of meeting discussed holding of advocacy meetings for recommendations of report of Youth Awareness and decided to hold advocacy meeting with Ministry of Haj & Islamic Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation & Development, the Youth Deputy and Independent Election Commission.
Similarly, participants of meeting discussed on contents of YPRAG quarterly and decided to add the following issue in YPRAG quarterly: - Introduction of YPRAG; - Biography of all members of YPRAG; - Information on performance and activities of YPRAG - Publication of articles of members of YPRAG; At the end of the meeting the facilitator of group urged members of group to help in achieving group’s programs. Similarly, the facilitator of group delegated the following tasks to members of group: - Harron: Must create email-address for all members of group; - Freshta: Must set a meeting with Ministry of Higher Education; - All members of Group: Must send their biographies to facilitator of group; - All members of group: Must prepare questions of focus groups; The Youth Political Rights Advocacy Group held its April meeting on April 11, 2016 in FEFA HQ. The meeting began with introduction of new members of group and presenting of information on activities and performance of group for them. The meeting began with presentation of information on Free & Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan (FEFA) and then the facilitator of group presented information on history, performance and activities of YPRAG to new members. The facilitator of group said, “The YPRAG was established in 2014 and registered with Youth Deputy of Ministry of Information and Culture. The group has held public awareness programs for youth in 22 districts of Kabul city.” She added that the group reviewed the national youth policy and developed a recommended proposal on amendment of this policy. According her, after the development of recommended proposal on amendment of the Youth National Policy the group wanted to set a meeting with the Youth Deputy Minister of Information & Culture to present the recommended proposal on amendment of the National Youth Policy but unfortunately failed to meet the Youth Deputy Minister. Likewise, the group wrote a book titled the Young Figures and explained the biography and achievements of youth who have been active in social activities but were never appreciated by government or non-government institutions. At the end of the meeting the new members YPRAG filled up the membership form of YPRAG and officially became members of the group. The Youth Political Rights Advocacy Group (YPRAG) held a meeting in April, 21, 2016 at FEFA HQ. The objective of this meeting was listening to working activities of members, exchanging views on group’s quarterly and finalizing focus group’s questions. At the beginning of the meeting, the facilitator of group presented brief information about group to new members and said, “We reviewed the 2014 electoral challenges and found out that the level of youth participation was low in 2014 elections. Therefore, we decided to hold awareness programs on election to youth in schools. We held the awareness program in 2 schools (one male and one female) in 8 zones of Afghanistan and 22 districts of Kabul city.” She added that totally 1000 youth participated and benefited from these programs. Then, she added that after holding of the awareness programs the group decided to identify, appreciate and write the biography of active youth to share the secret of their success with other youth. Therefore, the group identified 20 active youth, appreciated them and published their biography in a book. The facilitator of group said, “We will work on two proposals, printing of group’s quarterly, holding of advocacy meetings for report of Youth and Political Participation which was already published and work on election policy this year.” Subsequently, based on the agenda the members of group exchanged views on groups quarterly and promised to send their biographies along with their photos and research articles to facilitator of the group to include them in groups quarterly. At the end of the meeting, the participants finalized the questions of focus groups.
