Town hall meeting held in Bamyan province

The Free & Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan (FEFA) held a town-hall meeting in Bamyan province where the representatives of Bamyan in the National Assembly and provincial council attended to discuss Bamyan’s challenges and problems. Lack of electricity, asphalted roads, security and lack of government’s support from gardening in Bamyan were the 4 major problems of Bamyan province raised in this town-hall meeting. Mr. Abdul Rahman Shahedani on behalf of Bamyan’s representatives in the National Assembly and Mr. Asadullah Asadi on behalf of Bamyan provincial council attended the town-hall meeting to discuss about Bamyan’s problems with Bamyan residents. First, participants of meeting explained their views about the problems. They focused on lack of electricity in Bamyan province and seriously criticized the local government of Bamyan for its weakness to solve this problem. The participants of meeting also pointed out that the roads are not asphalted in Bamyan and created many problems for Bamyan citizens. They requested the Bamyan provincial council and the National Assembly of Afghanistan to pay attention to this problem and take the necessary measures to solve it. They also said that the roads which connect Kabul to Bamyan are totally insecure and the Taliban take many sacrifices from the people of Bamyan every year. They accused the government of inattention to the live and assets of Bamyan residents and requested Bamyan representatives in the National Assembly to put pressure on security entities to pay attention to the security of Kabul-Bamyan highways. Government’s inattention to gardening and educational problems in Bamyan province were other issues raised in this meeting. Subsequently, Mr. Abdul Rahman Shahedani on behalf of Bamyan’s representatives in the National Assembly and Mr. Asadullah Asadi on behalf of Bamyan provincial council delivered remarks after each other. They presented information about their efforts and future plans to solve these problems.
